Private Pilot Curriculum Topics
The first step in your aviation training: The private license. The FAA requires you to achieve 40 hours of training before you may test for your license, with the national average suggesting most pilots average 75 hours before achieving their wings! Our own average is closer to the 50-55 hour mark, depending on how often you can train. The Private license can be attained in as little as 4 weeks with an active training schedule!
Your training will consist of:
20 hours dual instruction (you and your instructor), which includes:
3 hours cross-country flight3 hours night flight3 hours flight by instruments3 hours of checkride preparation
Additionally, you will be trained to accomplish the following things on your own (solo):
Solo Cross-country flightTowered Airport operationsThe FAA Written Exam

Instrument Rating
When you're ready for the next challenge, the Instrument rating has it for you. Travel with increased confidence, be it in good weather, daytime, nighttime, or in the clouds - take your flying to a higher level with an IFR ticket.
The Instrument rating can be achieved in 3 weeks with an active training schedule!
Prerequisites:
Private Pilot Rating
50 hours of total solo Cross-country flight.
Your training will consist of:
35 hours total actual or simulated instrument training
35 hours dual instruction with a CFII
One IFR cross-country flight of 250nm, with 3 different approaches
Training for the Written Exam
