Current Openings at Fly Corona!

Our miniature Air Force isn't all fun and games -- in fact, it's a lot of work! Day in, day out, the things we do matter, because 300 students depend on us executing and delivering the aircraft, the instructors, the scheduling, the billing -- correctly, on time, as expected, and with a smile.... even when you no longer feel like smiling.

And in exchange? You get to meet the elite. Pilots and aspiring pilots alike hail from all walks of life, and are the top echelon of whatever it is they set their minds to.

Fly Corona! is comprised of the new generation of flyers, not the grizzled old shady codgers that (depressingly) dominate this business. We are technically savvy, energetic, and eager to help everyone we can to achieve humankind's greatest vocation: to fly.

Join us, see why we're having fun doing the things that we do, even when they seem impossible, and be a part of something incredible on the flightline - and do these things, to paraphrase Google, while not being evil.

FAA-Certified A&P Mechanic

It has been said numerous times around the FlyC ranch that "Aircraft are like little children..." always needing care, attention, feeding, and then they still can break your heart. Thanks to our existing staff of mechanics, our aircraft don't break anything else that often, and maintain a high standard of airworthiness. We are seeking a uniquely talented individual to continue this legacy, and add his or her own mark to our fleet, and even, shall we say it, adopt our flybabies as your own?

All that, plus, you get to get really greasy and play with power tools all day! Perfect!

Fly Corona! is seeking an A&P or A&P/IA to join our maintenance staff. This is a junior or mid-level position in our maintenance line-up, with lots of mentoring and lessons ahead for you, and also, the opportunity to grow with us and our winged children.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

A valid FAA A&P license (required)

A good attention to detail, even under the hot glare of office and waiting students alike

The ability to assist with the longterm planning of preventative maintenance, parts acquisition and inventory

A "calm under pressure" demeanour

We have a selection of tools, a well-stocked hangar, and a willingness to invest. We also have numerous on-field vendors who we outsource overflow work to - so deadline pressure is managed. This is a great opportunity for someone to build or refine their skills as an aircraft mechanic.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, in a range from $14 - $40/hr.

Please email a resume and salary history to: fly@flycorona.com for more information and consideration.

FAA Certified Flight Instructor

You got the ticket, you worked hard, and the FAA believes you can teach anyone to fly. Now what? Now prove it.

How about sunshine, nice planes, twin time, great students, and a fun environment?

How about flying in the busiest airspace system in the WORLD?

How about a packed schedule? Our CFIs often fly 56 hours per week. That's right, we are actually capable of breaking FAA duty cycle limits. (but we won't)

How about competitive rates? We pay up to $25/hr, we offer flight time bonuses ($5/hr for each paid hour instructing), student checkride bonuses (to $200 per student), and referral bonuses (5%!). We pay you for your time when you ferry our planes, attend our company meetings, and even rock out at our Christmas party.

We never ask you to sit on a couch unpaid, give free ground instruction, or wash planes -- what?! This is a school of learning, and you rule this roost -- this is more than a "job", and we give you the tools needed to succeed.

We share comissions on aircraft bought by your students, we don't interfere in YOUR freelance work, we handle your scheduling conflicts with style.

Spend one year with the Fly Corona faculty, and your typical resume will look like this:

1,500+ TT, 1,200+ in the last 12 months, all in the LAX, SFO, LAS, and SAN class B environments.
100+ TT current ME/Complex, all in the last 12 months.
250+ Garmin G1000 TAA/Glass Cockpit, all in the last 12 months.
20 Student Completions
40 Student Solos

We will pay for your CFII, MEL, MEI, or any other add-ons you need. We'll supply you with charts and supplies, free of charge. We'll even keep you stocked with breath mints, bottled water, energy bars, snacks, and polo shirts.

"And you did all of that where? In the Los Angeles Terminal Area?! in San Diego, Las Vegas, and San Francisco too?! You're hired!"

We maintain active connections to regional, specialty, cargo, and charter operations in the area, helping you land that job in a King Air, Caravan, Citation, or even an Embraer. Our instructors leave Fly Corona confident, having seen it all and mixed it up professionally with the pros, and with a resume sure to beat out any country bumpkin with triple your hours.

So where are YOU going to spend the next 1,000 hours of your career? ... hopefully not washing some old fool's airplane belly for the next 3 years.

A&P Mechanic Apprentice

Fly Corona is also seeking somebody "generally mechanically inclined" to help about the hangar, office, grounds, and doing other sundry items. Ideally, this is a person interested in building time towards their A&P license, and enjoying the sort of knowledge only actual hands-on experience can bring.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Mechanical inclination

A good attention to detail, and the ability to ask many questions before doing new things

A seeming insensitivity towards icky jobs like oil changes, plane degreasing, and swimming laps in a gasoline tank. (just kidding about the last one)

Compensation is commensurate with experience and how much you laughed at that gas tank thing, in a range from $7.50 - $12/hr. Partial or full compensation in flight-time credit is also possible.

We are seeking full-time candidates only at this time!

Please email a resume and salary history to: fly@flycorona.com for more information and consideration.
